Education for All Campaign in Afghanistan 2012
Movement for Support of Quality Education in Afghanistan (MSQEA) is a consortium of likeminded Afghan organizations that are involved in education sector in the country for more than two decades. MSQEA’s mission is to make sure that government acts now to deliver the right of every girl, boy, woman and man to a free and quality education. MSQEA has been the coordinating body for organizing the Education for All campaign and the registered entity with GCE (Global Campaign for Education) in Afghanistan since 2008. Watch on Basic Rights Afghanistan Organization (WBRAO) plays the secretariat role of the MSQEA since 2011.
This year, it is a good opportunity that the global theme for campaign “Rights from the Start; Early Childhood Care and Education Now!” is exactly in line with the ground realities of Afghanistan (considering the pre-school period’s education) and it will further converge the MSQEA and members to GCE. Campaign action week is from 22 to 28 April 2012 with variety of activities (organizing a national conference on 25 April, 2012 in Kabul, provincial gatherings in seven provinces including Kandahar, Farah, Ghor, Hirat, Faryab, Balkh and Parwan, broadcast of audio and video messages through partner media to most parts of the country – over 30 provinces – distribution of print promotional materials during the conference and gatherings etc.
