WHO WE ARE

In mid 2010, a group of committed, experienced and professional Afghans began to look for initiating something new and effective to contribute in building Peace and Development in Afghanistan. After serious and frequent meetings, they decided to establish an organization, through which they could work for the cause struggling to promote peace and development processes in Afghanistan. In result, the Cooperation for Peace and Development (CPD) was established and founding members devoted themselves voluntarily to achieve the set objectives.Fortunately in 2011 the organization was officially registered with Ministry of Economy of GoA (Government of Afghanistan).

CPD is a nonprofit Non-Governmental organization aimed at bringing positive changes in perception and behavior of Afghans as the key to ensure Peace and Development through identified intervention strategies of the organization including advocacy, capacity building, research, engagement with traditional and modern media and service delivery. CPD is a bridge between marginalized Afghan people (especially women, youth, children and the disabled) and decision makers including government, parliament and other concerned parties. All the CPD’s activities are based on Afghanistan constitution and other national and international laws and conventions.

The Mission: To contribute in enhancing peace and development in Afghanistan in linkage to the regional and global changes.
